VFS Global supports 282 Special Olympics Bharat athletes with seamless Germany doorstep visa service

 

  • Organised a three-day complimentary Visa At Your Doorstep camp at the campus of Amity University, Noida
  • Efforts aimed at assisting athletes in representing India at the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023

 

VFS Global, the world’s largest outsourcing and technology services specialist for governments and diplomatic missions, has assisted a delegation of 282 athletes and coaches from the Special Olympics Bharat with seamless Germany visa application submission.

 

The three-day Visa At Your Doorstep camp organised by VFS Global at the campus of Amity University, Noida, was aimed at helping these athletes with intellectual disabilities in representing India at the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023, scheduled to be held from 17 to 25 June 2023. To ensure that all the 282 athletes and coaches complete their visa application submission on time, VFS Global organised mobile biometric kits and team and the staff worked 20 hours a day for three days. 


“We are overwhelmed by the dedicated service rendered by VFS Global officials at the Special Olympics Bharat sports camp held recently in preparation of the Berlin games. The time and patience with which they ensured that all the delegates’ visa process was completed is unprecedented and we would like to express our sincere gratitude to them. Special Olympics Bharat is a National Sports Federation also registered under the Indian Trust Act 1882 in 2001 and is accredited by Special Olympics International to conduct Special Olympics Programs in India.

 

To acknowledge their efforts, all VFS Global team members were facilitated by Dr. Nadda at the Amity University campus on 28 April 2023.

FIND and VIA Global Health partner to expand access to quality diagnostics in low- and middle-income countries

FIND announced today that a new partnership with VIA Global Health will provide new routes to market for regional and global manufacturers of high-quality diagnostic tests, to expand access to testing in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). A collaborative agreement brings together VIA Global Health, a leading online marketplace that delivers medical products to over 80 countries, and the DxConnect Marketplace, conceived by FIND to directly connect buyers with approved test suppliers to serve market segments that cannot access quality products through other procurement mechanisms.

The DxConnect Marketplace initiative is aligned with FIND’s Global Access Policy, which aims to provide affordable, available, and accessible diagnostics in LMICs. Specifically, the DxConnect Marketplace addresses challenges including insufficient product knowledge, fragmented supply chains, opaque pricing information, and high logistics costs that continue to impede diagnostic access. The partnership with VIA Global Health complements FIND’s efforts to expand the reach of the DxConnect Marketplace so that more people can access quality, affordable diagnostic tests.

Rapid diagnostic tests from Premier Medical Corporation (PMC) in India were already available to purchase via the DxConnect Marketplace by buyers for LMIC markets. Today’s partnership means that availability of these PMC products will now be extended to the VIA Global Health platform.

FIND and VIA Global Health are already working together to include additional diagnostic products and expand the partnership to enable more regional and global manufacturers to reach a wider audience.

LG ELECTRONICS COLLABORATES WITH HABITAT FOR HUMANITY INDIA FOR “LET’S BUILD A HOUSE” INITIATIVE


LG Electronics, India’s one of the leading consumer durables company, extends support to Habitat for Humanity India. In collaboration with LG, the housing non-profit organization will construct homes in Modi Nagar, Bhojpur block, Ghaziabad. The “Let’s Build a House” initiative aims to create secure living conditions for underprivileged families, currently residing in substandard housing conditions. The ground-breaking ceremony took place on 18th May 2023 in the presence of Sanjay Chitkara, Sales Head, LG Electronics India, Narendra Gambhir- Regional Business Head- UP (WEST) & Uttarakhand.

PM Modi’s younger brother visited HIIMS for treatment of kidney failure

Prahlad Modi, the younger brother of PM Modi, sought treatment for kidney failure at HIIMS Dera Bassi, Chandigarh. He has been undergoing dialysis twice a week for the past two years and decided to try Ayurveda due to his dissatisfaction with modern allopathic treatment. His primary purpose in visiting HIIMS was to determine if his kidney was still functional. Prior to visiting HIIMS, he had experienced difficulties climbing stairs, shortness of breath, restlessness after eating, and sitting. However, his condition has significantly improved since arriving at HIIMS. He can now climb stairs without difficulty, and there is no discomfort while eating or sitting. Prahlad Modi has been taking medication for diabetes and high blood pressure for several years, and his blood sugar and pressure are now under control. Currently, he is receiving panchakarma, diet therapy, and graded treatment at HIIMS. Despite undergoing dialysis twice a week for the past two years, efforts are being made to reduce his dialysis through Ayurveda at HIIMS.

Prahlad Modi revealed that he had been dealing with diabetes and high blood pressure since 1992, leading to the failure of both his kidneys and the need for dialysis. However, he came across HIIMS Hospital, which is run by Acharya Manish Ji and located near Chandigarh. The hospital offers water therapy that can eliminate the need for dialysis. Prahlad Modi arrived at HIIMS with the hope of availing of this therapy and felt like he was among family during his treatment.

He added that since he arrived at HIIMS, his blood sugar and pressure have improved significantly within a few days. He no longer has trouble climbing stairs, and his breathing has become easier. The swelling in his legs and body has also disappeared. His experience at HIIMS has given him confidence that he will eventually regain complete health. He recommends that other kidney patients should consider coming to HIIMS Hospital for therapy because Ayurveda is very effective.

HIIMS Ayurveda has a reputation for successfully treating serious illnesses like kidney failure, liver failure, and cancer. It is a leading hospital in India for Ayurvedic treatment. HIMS is an integrated hospital that offers its patients a range of treatments, including Ayurveda, natural medicine, homeopathy, nutritional therapy, and panchakarma. Prahlad Modi expressed his satisfaction with his therapy, diet, and the environment at HIIMS, and he believes that people across the country should seek Ayurvedic treatment. He thinks that by promoting Modi's “vocal for local” mission, the country can make progress.

Apart from him, MP Arjun Lal Meena from Udaipur underwent treatment for kidney disease eight months ago at HIMS. Prior to his treatment, he was undergoing dialysis twice a week, and after his treatment at HIMS, he now only needs dialysis once a week. Comedian Bharti Singh's mother is also undergoing kidney treatment at HIIMS Meerut and has already recovered 70 to 80% of her health. Before her treatment at HIIMS, her kidney function was only at 7%, but after the treatment, it increased to 11%, and her creatinine level, which was previously at 10, is now at 5. Comedian Rajiv Thakur's father is also receiving kidney treatment at HIIMS Meerut. Moreover, many well-known personalities in India, including IAS, IPS, MP, and MLA, are undergoing Ayurvedic treatment at HIIMS.

Shemaroo Entertainment, one of India’s leading media and entertainment player, has bolstered its senior leadership team with the appointment of Anuja Trivedi as its Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). Anuja will lead the company's overall marketing strategy and will be responsible for driving business growth, leading strategic initiatives and strengthening consumer engagement. With her extensive experience in strategic development, pricing & revenue and content strategy, Anuja will be an important and key addition to the Shemaroo senior leadership team. Anuja will be reporting to Arghya Chakravarty and will be a part of the executive committee.  

 

Anuja brings over 15 years of rich experience in strategy and media and entertainment industry, having held senior leadership roles in reputed organizations such as Disney Star, World Gold Council, McKinsey & Company, Morgan Stanley and PwC. As Executive Director at Disney Star India, she led the content studio strategy across TV and digital, maximizing subscriber growth on Disney+Hotstar and Star's network market share on TV.
