IRCTC brings Millet Patty as part of breakfast on Rajdhani and August Kranti Trains, partners with Godrej Yummiez


As 2023 is being celebrated as the International Year of Millets, Godrej Yummiez, a leading brand of frozen ready-to-cook products from Godrej Tyson Foods Limited (GTFL), and Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), collaborated to bring millet pattyin passenger trains. Introduced earlier this year, Godrej Yummiez Millet Patty received an overwhelming response from households who appreciated the nutritious and tasty patty variant made from millets like Jowar (Sorgum) and Bajra (Pearl Millet). Godrej Yummiez developed the millet patty as an innovative snack option. The snack is made using Individual Quick Freeze (IQF) technology to helpkeep it fresh withno preservatives. With high fiber content and vitamins of millet blended with a flavorful mix of herbs and spices, these patties are sure to make snacking tasty as well as nutritious.

 

Rajdhani and August Kranti trains stand as iconic legacies within the Indian railway network, celebrated for their exceptional service and remarkable food offerings. Federal Bank Hormis Memorial Foundation, News 18 Network, and Tata Trusts, all three organisations renowned for their dedication to meaningful and impactful initiatives, will jointly unveil ‘Sanjeevani-United against cancer’. ‘Sanjeevani’ aims to raise awareness and encourage conversations around the silent cancer epidemic, and to alleviate fears that often accompany this disease. The collaborative effort seeks to drive positive sentiments towards early and consistent health tests, tumor management, and symptom recognition, all crucial aspects in the battle against cancer.

Cancer’s prevalence as a significant health challenge persists, ranking among the leading causes of mortality. In India, the reluctance to address Cancer early is often rooted in fear and a lax attitude towards health. The common forms of cancer in the country include Breast Cancer, Oral Cancer, Cervical Cancer, Lung Cancer, and Colorectal Cancer. The Sanjeevani initiative focuses on empowering and supporting individuals to confront these fears and actively fight Cancer. The number of Cancer cases in the country is projected to go up from 14.6 Lakh in 2022 to 15.7 Lakh in 2025, according to the Indian Council of Medical Research-National Cancer Registry Programme (ICMR-NCRP) [1]. Moreover, on a global scale, 30% of cancer patients lose their lives due to late-stage detection, while 70% achieve a reprieve due to early detection facilitated by awareness. Unfortunately, this ratio is reversed in India.  It has become all the more urgent therefore to fight the social stigma surrounding it and counter the hesitancy around tests for early detection.

The people of Hyderabad now have a new reason to celebrate with the grand opening of Balagam, a family restaurant situated at Neredmet X Roads. Renowned Tollywood actor Manchu Manoj Inaugurated the Balagam, Fine Dine Restaurant.  The event was honored by the presence of MLA Mynampalli Hanumantha Rao and members of the Gabbarsingh Gang.

Tollywood sensation Manchu Manoj praised the restaurant's arrival in Neredmet, expressing how it eliminates the need for residents to travel several kilometers for a satisfying dining experience. He commented, “This family-run restaurant is a splendid addition. All local families can savor the wide array of cuisines available here. The ambiance is remarkable. Remember, 80 percent of our health depends on what we eat, so let's be mindful of our choices. When myv health permits, I enjoy non-veg, but when it's time to be cautious, I stick to vegetarian.”

MLA Mynampalli Hanumantha Rao highlighted the significance of family gatherings, drawing a parallel to the sentiment captured by the movie “Balagam.” He commended the restaurant, saying, “A wonderful addition to the Neredmet area. It looks splendid. I hope the 'Balagam' team expands their presence not only in the twin cities but throughout Telangana, reaching new heights. Personally, I'm a fan of vegetarian food, especially sambar, rice, and ghee. With these, I'm content.”

Balagam can accommodate up to 64 guests and offers a diverse menu featuring Biryani, South Indian, North Indian, Chinese, Breads, Grills, Tandur, and the special Telangana delight – Mutton Marag.
