Upon receiving a letter from Dr. Nowhera Shaik, Founder & National President of the All India Mahila Empowerment Party (AIMEP), urging the reinforcement of ladies quota seats in trains across India, Smt Droupadi Murmu, The President of India's Secretariat, directs Railway Minister to consider the issue and make necessary arrangements.

In her latter to the President, she commended the railway's progressive steps under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's leadership.

She specifically lauded the recent introduction of a 33% sub-quota for women in reserved catering units as a commendable move towards gender equality and increased participation of women in the railway sector.

However, Dr. Shaik expressed concern over the apparent reduction in ladies' quota seats on trains despite the overall progress of Indian Railways in various domains.

She urged the President to reconsider and reinforce at least 30 seats (Sleeper, AC-3, and AC-II) per train for the ladies' quota.

Dr. Shaik emphasized that such a reinstatement would significantly benefit women, ensuring their comfort and safety during rail travel.

“Giving ample space to the women's reservation quota in trains is not just a matter of convenience; it's a symbolic step towards acknowledging and prioritizing women's safety and rights during travel,” said Dr. Nowhera Shaik, reinforcing the importance of providing adequate facilities for female passengers.

“If our party comes into power, we will provide free LPG connections and free electricity to all households,” she announced and stressed the importance of significant healthcare reforms to enhance healthcare access for everyone.

“I am committed to helping the underprivileged and fighting for basic rights such as clean water, education, and healthcare for all. I am dedicated to ensuring these fundamental needs for each person,” she added. She further said that the party plans to create two lakh government jobs in the first year and provide Rs 5,000 per month to unemployed youth.

She also mentioned that her party is committed to fighting for the fundamental rights of the people in Hyderabad, focusing on their essential needs such as healthcare, education, safe drinking water, and affordable electricity. The party aims to empower women by involving them in entrepreneurship to ensure their independence and livelihood. Moreover, the concerns of the younger generation will be a priority and addressed accordingly.

“We recently visited various areas in Hyderabad and listened to the grievances of the residents. It's evident that the current government has done little to alleviate their concerns. People everywhere are expressing discontent about poverty, unemployment, the increasing prices of essentials, and they feel the government's claims are unsubstantiated,” she stated.
